The recruiting of wide receiver Ryan Jenkins is picking up steam just when he was planning to narrow his choices.
New colleges are showing interest in the Northeast Cobb junior, GoUpstate.com reports, so he’s going to wait a few more weeks to name his top three. He had planned to narrow his list over the weekend.
Jenkins told the website he now expects an offer from the University of Washington and hopes to visit Seattle in addition to visits to the UGA campus in Athens, Southern Cal and UCLA.
Alabama also reportedly is interested.
The pursuit of the former Milton wide receiver has picked up since his standout performance at the 2012 Nike Football SPARQ Combine in March, shortly before he transferred to Lassiter.
Jenkins said his offers include Clemson, new SEC member Missouri, UCLA, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Louisville and Southern Miss.
His brother, Martin, plays for Clemson, and his father, Lee, played for Tennessee.
Jenkins now plans to make his pick around the Fourth of July.
