Lassiter Trumps North Cobb

The Trojans defeated the Warriors, 56-35.

The made easy work of the North Cobb Warriors Friday night, winning 56-35.Β 

Striking first, Trojans quarterback Eddie Printz connected with wide receiver Charlie Hegedus with 9:11 remaining in the first quarter. Not to be outdone, the Warriors fought back, scoring a touchdown in under a minute with a 78-yard run, but missing the extra point.Β 

The Warriors recovered their onside kick and subsequently scored again, this time securing a two-point conversion.Β  With just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter, Lassiter's Josh Danforth forced the ball from the 2-yard line to even things up at 14.

The second quarter started with an early Warrior touchdown pass, but was quickly countered by a run downfield by the Trojans giving them first and goal. The Trojans missed three passes into the end zone before quarterback Eddie Printz found the right target in Willie Police.Β 

Perhaps one of the most exciting moments of the game came with just 2:32 left in the half: quarterback Eddie Printz shuffled a lateral pass to Donovan Crepsac who then launched a pass into the end zone to Charlie Hegedus, giving the Trojans a 28-21 lead.Β  After a missed field goal attempt by the Trojans, the half expired sending both teams to the locker room to regroup.Β

Lassiter came out swinging in the second half, scoring three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter, including one after an interception and one after a fumble recovery by Isiah Willis.

Despite being plagued with several personal foul penalties, Lassiter continued to dominate in the fourth quarter. Two more interceptions and one touchdown effectively secured victory for the Trojans.
