High School Hoops Preview: Tuesday

Here is what to watch for at the Northeast Cobb Patch on Tuesday:

Teams: Lassiter vs. Wheeler

When: 6 p.m. girls; 7:30 p.m boys

Where:

Girls Preview: The Lady Trojans (1-18, 0-8) came so close to getting their first Region 5-AAAAA win on Jan. 31 when they lost by two points on the road at Wheeler (9-12, 2-8). On Tuesday Lassiter gets another chance on its home court. The 43 points that Lassiter put up against Wheeler last week was its highest scoring output of the season. It’s going to take another season-high to get that elusive victory.

Boys Preview: Lassiter (9-10, 6-3) has lost two games in a row, both to Region 5-AAAAA foes that are ahead of them in the standings. It would take nothing short of a miracle – actually Lassiter has to win the rest of its games while Walton and Wheeler lose all their remaining games – for the Trojans to win the region. Lassiter will make a start at that miracle finish on Tuesday when they host Wheeler (17-5, 9-1).
