Lassiter Football Stars: Signing Day

The nation's football stars began signing scholarship papers Wednesday at 7 a.m.

Lassiter High School football teammates Kenny Orjioke, Niles Clark and Charlie Hegedus signed letters of intent.

Nigerian-born Orjioke hadn’t played a full season of football until he enrolled at Lassiter before the 2011 season. The defensive back was noticed almost immediately once he began playing for the Trojans.

Orjioke had “20-plus” scholarship offers by season end. He will have the chance for a homecoming after signing with UCLA.

Orjioke’s Lassiter teammates, Clark and Hegedus, signed with North Carolina State on Wednesday.
