Kell Class of 2011 Graduates

Cobb students start a new life chapter by participating in an academic rite of passage.

Kell High School held commencement for  the class of 2011 on the campus of Kennesaw State University on Saturday afternoon.

Every seat was filled for the ticketed event celebrating the 9th class to graduate from Kell.

According to Peter Giles, Kell assistant principal and athletic director, 397 students participated out of 425 graduates.

"This group of seniors has made great achievements and is well decorated, " Giles said with a proud smile. "Our band performed at the band directors' conference in Chicago. It was an honor to play in front of directors from around the world."

"We have an artist, Sunni Losito, whose work is going to be exhibited in a museum in New York and I can think of two athletes graduating who have excelled. Brian Randolph, a member of our football team, which went undefeated in regular season this year, was awarded Gatorade Player of the Year. Kelsey Mericka, a softball player, is a finalist for Gatorade Athlete of the Year," he said.
