Friday High School Hoops Preview

Here is what to watch for at the Northeast Cobb Patch on Friday:

Teams: Lassiter vs. Walton

When: 6 p.m. girls; 7:30 p.m boys

Where:

Girls Preview: This incredibly young Lassiter (2-16, 0-7) team is still figuring out the subtle nuances of playing together and in the tough 5-AAAAA region. The Lady Trojans have only won twice this year, but in four of their last five games they have scored better than their season average, showing that offensive growth is beginning. On Friday, Lassiter hosts Walton (11-9, 4-4) who is on a two-game skid.

Boys Preview: The Lassiter Trojans (9-9, 6-2) have an opportunity to play spoiler on Friday when they host Walton (14-6, 7-1) in a 5-AAAAA regional matchup. The Trojans are one game behind the Raiders in the regional standings and Walton is tied with powerhouse Wheeler. A win over Walton will allow Lassiter to move into second place with just a week of regular-season games remaining.
