Bells Ferry Elementary Wins SHAPE Grant

The grant supports health initiatives in schools.

The Georgia Department of Public Health and the Governor’s SHAPE initiative awarded 20 schools a total of $88,000 in grants, and Bells Ferry Elementary School in Northeast Cobb was one of them.

The grant, which supports health initiatives in schools, will help Bells Ferry physical education specialist Randa Burden implement running clubs, game and sport clubs, Zumba instruction and the NFL Play60 program, according to a release from the Cobb County School District.

"Funds will also support classroom teachers as they share nutrition concepts with students," the district said.
