Northeast Cobb Road Work Update

Here's the schedule of road projects this weekend and next week, provided by District 3 Cobb Commissioner JoAnn Birrell: 

Shiloh Road at Shallowford Road Construction
The contractor is planning to work Saturday, Oct. 12, performing grading operations with lane closures. No work planned for Sunday, Oct. 13.

• Shiloh/Shallowford Road from Wade Green Road to Canton Road - Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues grading, installing storm drainage crossings, concrete curb and utilities relocating services. EXPECT DELAYS

• New Chastain Road over Noonday Creek - Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18. Contractor will be milling and placing asphalt pavement on the roadway approaches to the bridge. This will include lane shifts to complete all the work. EXPECT DELAYS

• Tanbark Place to Blackwell Road - Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues grading operations and placing concrete curb and sidewalk.

Old Sewell Road Sidewalks Construction
The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Oct. 12-13.

• Holt Road to Old Canton Road - Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18. Contractor will continue wall construction and installing water main. Utilities will be relocating services.

Road Resurfacing**
Asphalt paving operations - which include lane closures though one lane will remain open at all times - are **scheduled next week, (Saturday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 14 through Friday, Oct. 18), on the following road: EXPECT DELAYS

• Bells Ferry Road from Cobb Parkway to I-575 Bridge
• Kurtz Road From Bells Ferry Road to Canton Road
Sewell Mill Road from Roswell Rd. to Johnson Ferry Rd.

Skip Spann Connector (Busbee-Frey Connector)
This proposed project is a new bridge over Interstate 75 that connects Frey Road to Busbee Drive just north of Chastain Road. A roundabout is proposed at the intersection of the Skip Spann Connector and Busbee Drive. For more, visit http://tinyurl.com/d6fuhbj


Construction update from GDOT - road work on North Marietta ParkwayRoad closure on North Marietta Parkway between Wallace Road and Cobb Parkway from 11 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11 to 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 14. This GDOT project is to replace the concrete slabs under the I-75 overpass and will include the closure of both I-75 ramps. This road closure will also take place the next three subsequent weekends Oct. 18, Oct. 25, and Nov. 1.
