Local Unemployment Rate Greater Than National
The unemployment rate for Northeast Cobb is below the statewide rate and above the national rate.
The preliminary August unemployment rate for Marietta is 10, compared with a revised figure of 9.8 for July and 10.4 for August 2010, according to preliminary figures the Georgia Department of Labor released Thursday.
That puts the local rate below the statewide rate of 10.4 and above the national rates of 9.1 for August, 9.3 for July and 9.5 for August 2010.
The Cobb County preliminary August unemployment rate is 9.6, compared with a revised figure of 9.5 for July and 9.9 for August 2010.
