Vehicle Break-ins, Falcon Wood Drive Area

Cobb County Precinct 1 Updated Feb. 3, 2011

Feb. 1, 8 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. A suspect vandalized a Chevrolet Impala located at property on Chastain Meadows Court. Victim believes that her ex-boyfriend did it. She said they had broken up the prior Friday. There is a black scratch on the driver's side of the Impala that spanned the entire length of the two side doors. The rear driver's side tire was also punctured and flat.

Feb. 2, 2 a.m. Officer saw a Ford Ranger parked in a side parking lot of JJ Daniel Middle School on Scott Road. It was unusual to see a personal vehicle parked at the middle school at that time of night, so officer notified radio of the situation. The vehicle was unoccupied but the engine was warm. Officer patrolled around the school premises, including the bus parking area, but did not locate anyone.

Feb. 2, 10 p.m. - 10:15 p.m. Victim called the following day to report that the previous night an unknown person entered the basement and then attempted to enter the house located on Shallowford Road.

Jan. 28, 5 p.m. - Jan. 30, 5 p.m. Unknown persons entered the unlocked vehicle on Falcon Woods Drive and took a pack of gum.

Jan. 30, 10 p.m. - Jan. 31, 6 p.m. Unknown suspects entered the unlocked vehicle parked on Rubes Creek Drive and took a Garmin GPS and a Phillips DVD/TV combo.

Jan. 30, 3:30 a.m. - 4 a.m. The victim saw two suspects inside his unlocked vehicle parked at Falcon Wood Trace.  They were described as two white male suspects, about 5`10", very thin, very short hair, and wearing hoodies. They also witnessed a suspicious vehicle turning from Falcon Wood Way (just south of their house) and slowly drove northbound on Falcon Wood Trace. They described the vehicle as a lowered small black pick-up truck, like a Ford Ranger or Chevrolet S-10, with a regular cab and dark tinted windows.  A Garmin GPS and tennis balls were taken. 

Jan. 31, 7:40 a.m - 8 a.m. An unlocked vehicle on Olde Mill Drive was entered while left running to warm up in the driveway.  The victims wallet with cash and credit cards was taken from her purse left on the seat. Change was taken from the ashtray of a second vehicle.  Students were waiting for the bus near that driveway.  

Jan. 30, 2:30 a.m. Unlocked vehicle parked on Preswick Drive was entered which sounded the car alarm. The Garmin GPS was taken from the passenger compartment. Shoes and clothing were taken from the trunk by the time the victim responded to the alarm.

Jan. 29, 12 a.m - Jan. 30, 11 a.m. Unlocked vehicle parked on Falcon Wood Trace was entered while parked on the driveway.  An Ipod was taken that had been left on the seat. Cash was overlooked in the ash tray. 

Jan. 29, 6 p.m. - Jan. 31, 12:45 p.m. Two A/C compressor units were removed from the exterior of a vacant business located at 2320 Canton Road.  The front window was previously broken out but not reported.

Jan. 29, 11 p.m. - Jan. 30, 7:55 a.m. A black 1999 Lexus ES300, Georgia tag, parked at a Falcon Wood Way residence was stolen when left unlocked with the spare key in the glove box. An unlocked mini van was also entered and a laptop battery was left behind.  

Jan. 29, 10:24 p.m. - Jan. 30, 12:30 p.m. An unlocked Suburban parked on Preswick Drive was entered, A Ruger 380 semi automatic pistol was taken from the console of the vehicle.  A Magellan GPS nylon briefcase and a Motorola blue tooth were stolen.

Jan. 29, 9 p.m. - Jan. 30, 9:59 a.m. Two unlocked vehicles parked on Falcon Wood Drive were entered.  An HP Laptop was taken from one. A Garmin GPS was taken from the other.  The battery left at the above Falcon Wood incident was returned to this victim, relating the offenses. 

Jan. 29, 7 p.m. - Jan. 30, 12 p.m. Unlocked truck parked at Falcon Wood Trace was entered. The glove box was found open with nothing reported taken. 

Jan. 27, 9 p.m. - Jan. 28, 8:30 a.m. The passenger side front window of a vehicle parked at Millhouse Landing had been broken.  There was damage to the window frame, at the top, where it appeared the window had been pried out, causing it to break.  The console had been gone through. Cash was taken but other items of value were left, such as a laptop.
