Trickum Road Accident Claims Marietta Teen

The July 7 crash involved two cars and sent multiple people to the hospital.

A Marietta teen who was involved in a two-car traffic accident on Saturday afternoon has died, according to the .

Ryan Aschenbach, 18, a recent graduate of , was driving his blue 2006 Volvo S40 north on Trickum Road, near the intersection with Netherstone Drive. Aschenbach lost control of his car and crossed into the southbound lane of traffic, colliding with a green 1998 Lexus GS 400.

Aschenbach and two passengers in his car, 18-year-olds Christopher Heitzman and Tyler Seaman, both from Marietta, were taken to local hospitals for emergency treatment; Aschenbach and Seaman were taken to , while Heitzman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

According to the Cobb County Medical Examiners Office, Aschenbach died from his injuries on Sunday. 

The driver of the Lexus, 52-year-old Joanne Green from Roswell, was also taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the accident.
