Flood Watch In Effect Through Saturday

A slow-moving weather system will move over Cobb and the metro Atlanta area.

A flood watch is in effect from Atlanta southward through Saturday afternoon due to the potential for flooding in creeks, streams and flood-prone areas.

A slow-moving weather system will move over Atlanta through Saturday producing more than four inches of rain across central Georgia with up to an inch of rain possible in Atlanta.

Showers moved in Thursday night and will continue today with a second round of scattered rain moving in Friday night through Saturday morning.

Temperatures in the East Cobb area are expected to reach the low 50s Friday afternoon and drop into the mid 40s tonight.

For Saturday, the chance of showers will be 80 percent and most likely before 11 a.m. Highs in the high 50s with the chance of rain tapering off to 10 percent before 7 p.m. and lows in the high 30s.

On Sunday, skies will be sunny with temperatures reaching into the low 60s. But more rain will be moving into the Cobb and Atlanta area Sunday night and into the early part of next week.

Sunday night's low is expected to be in the high 30s.
