Goodwill Job Fair Today

The new Northeast Cobb store is hiring about 30 people for low-wage sales and production positions.

The Department of Labor’s in Northeast Cobb is holding a recruiting session today to help Goodwill of North Georgia hire about 30 people.

The jobs will be at Goodwill’s new store in Northeast Cobb at 2401 Shallowford Rd.

The store is set to open Jan. 12, Goodwill said. It's the nonprofit organization's 14th Cobb County location and will bring at least 40 jobs to the area.

“New store locations always present the opportunity to bring our unique shopping experience to more communities, but they also allow us to create new jobs in those communities,” Goodwill spokeswoman Elaine Armstrong said.

The recruitment session for applicants for full-time sales and production jobs will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the store.

It’s the second session the Cobb-Cherokee Career Center has held to help fill the Goodwill jobs, which pay a starting wage of $7.50 an hour.

You can speed up the process by applying at goodwill.org before going to the job fair. Bring photo identification, a Social Security card and a resume.
