St. Andrew Youth Fundraiser Scheduled

The Feb. 24 event includes a silent auction and a bake sale.

From a press release:

The young people of St. Andrew United Methodist Church will hold a silent auction and bake sale fundraiser at the church’s Keheley Center on Sunday, February 24, after the 10:45.am. Worship Service.

“We will have a large variety of items up for sale at the auction,” said Lisa Springer, director of youth ministries. “Last year, there were over 250 items on the auction floor. So we hope that everyone interested in finding great bargains and supporting an even greater cause will join us for this highly popular event.”

“In addition to the auction, we encourage everyone who attends to check out the Bake Sale, where our young people will also have a delicious variety of desserts available for people to purchase,” said Rev. Mack Riley, senior pastor at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. “The youth will be providing a complimentary lunch in conjunction with the auction as well, but I assure everyone that no one will mind if anyone wants to buy a dessert and eat that first.”

All money raised from the silent auction supports the missions of St. Andrew UMC. These ministries include Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives, wellness ministries, the Appalachia Service Project, the Andrew Christian School in Haiti, and ministries for men, women, children, youth, and seniors.

Every summer, St. Andrew organizes a variety of mission trips specifically for its youth group as well. These trips include a Youth Praise Band Tour, Youth Celebration Team Tour, YouthWorks Mission Trip, and an Appalachia Service Project Mission Trip.
