Locomotive History Comes Alive

Gather around to discuss what's happening in Northeast Cobb today, June 1.

1. It's the first day of June. The summer heat is upon us. According to the National Weather Service, Northeast Cobb will have highs in the mid-90s this week. The overnight low will be around 64. A Code Orange air-quality alert is a concern for the elderly, small children, and people with breathing problems or poor health. Check out our Beat the Heat article to learn safety tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Red Cross.

2. While relaxing indoors to escape the heat, catch up on the news Northeast Cobb Patch posted over the holiday weekend, including a video showing our area remembering veterans on Memorial Day, a yellow-light crash that critically hurt a man, collection of cats who need good homes, Registry for Animal Abusers, and much more.

2. Mabry Park Mast Plan meeting, hosted by the Friends of Mabry Park, will be held at 7 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 4495 Sandy Plains Road. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to bring a neighbor.
