Citizen Oversight Committee Meeting

Join us around the water cooler to discuss what's happening in Northeast Cobb today, May 18.

1. At Tuesday's meeting Board of Commissioners approved a rezoning of the Title Max property located at 4861 Canton Road, on the west side of Canton Road, north of Jamerson Road. The property is rezoned from GC to NRC for the purpose of an Addition of an Insurance Component.

2. The Board of Commissioners voted 4-0 against Marietta Recycling's special land-use permit to operate a metal scrap yard and transfer station near East Cobb Baseball. Click here to watch a video report of the meeting here.

3. Jenny Pruitt will be the guest speaker at The Northeast Cobb Business Association's monthly luncheon. Pruitt's highly successful real estate career is well known. She has extensive business management and sales experience to share. The luncheon is 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. $15 for members. $20 for non-members. Piedmont Baptist Church, 570 Piedmont Rd. 4. Two important county meetings today: The Citizen Oversight Committee meeting at 9 a.m. 100 Cherokee St., Suite 250, and The Board of Tax Assessors meeting, 10 a.m. 736 Whitlock Ave.

5. Take an outdoor break for some fresh air and family-friendly music with Jay Memory, founding member of the national act Memory Dean, performing old favorites and leading children sing-alongs. Wednesdays, 4-7pm. East Cobb Park, 3322 Roswell Road.
