Career Transitions Meeting

Let's discuss what's happening in Northeast Cobb today, May 16.

1. I don't know about you, but I had to pull out a cardigan sweater for Sunday. It was chilly as I perused the Marietta Greek Festival. Ready for cooler temperatures? A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible today after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Northwest wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

2. The North Cobb Democrats Meetup Group meets today.  Melissa Pike will be the guest speaker. Melissa is the Chairman of the Cobb County Democratic Party Committee. She will explain the important work that the committee does to ensure successful election results for the Democratic party. This will be an informative meeting where you can learn and share ideas in promoting the Democratic Party message. 7 p.m. Rib Ranch located at 2063 Canton Road.

3. The Marietta Daily Journal reported that in a rebuke to new Gov. Nathan Deal, Georgia Republicans on Saturday elected Sue Everhart of Cobb to another term as state party chairwoman over Deal’s hand-picked candidate.
