2. First graders in Mrs. Susan Becker’s class at Addison Elementary look forward to their morning pre-class visits from “The Reading Queen,” Audrey Norman. A former real estate office manager, Norman volunteers her time each day to foster a love of reading with children at the school. Students gather around her rocking chair, eager to listen to the stories and books she shares. After the passing of her husband, Norman decided it was never too late to make an impact on the lives of kids, even at the age of 77.
