I am a single mom of two living in North East Cobb. I ran the largest moms group in the area - Marietta Moms - for years. For some time, we had an event every single day so I know a lot of local businesses as a result. You may know me due to Snowedoutatlanta also. As a result of that I know a lot of people who work in Emergency Management in Cobb county and beyond throughout Georgia, including Government staffers but also including VOADs (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters) and Faith Based Organizations (FBOs). My kids go to East Cobb Middle School and I have always been very active in local Education issues - working with many groups to put pressure on Governor Deal to fully fund QBE for example from 2011- 2016 (see my previous posts here on Patch for some examples). I have always taken an active role in local politics - I have worked on the social media campaigns of Republican School Board member Scott Sweeney, Republican Primary candidate for Cobb Commissioner District 3 Tom Cheek, Democratic candidate for Cobb Commissioner District 3 Caroline Holko, as well as working on the Bernie Sanders campaign and the two Barack Obama campaigns.
