What Would You Ask Mother Teresa?

Can you imagine what it would be like to have some one-on-one time with Mother Teresa of Calcutta when she was very much alive serving the poorest of the poor in India?

Even if you don't see eye-to-eye with Mother Teresa of Calcutta on everything, you have to admit that she was one amazing woman. I look at her pictures and I see a beautiful woman. Can you imagine what it would be like... To see her with your own eyes?   To hear her voice saying your name? To see her fragile, yet powerful hands touching those whom the world had forsaken? I try to put myself there in my mind, but I can’t come close to being able to imagine an experience like this. It would be an honor that nothing could ever make you forget, right? Now imagine that you could ask this one-of-a-kind woman who walked with her Jesus in such an authentic way anything, knowing that she would share her wisdom and counsel with you. What would YOU …

Let Your Light Shine

What is the purpose of letting our light shine'? To bring the Father honor and praise. Sounds simple enough, right?

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Matthew 5:14-16 Growing up, I heard this passage repeated so frequently that I could quote it in my sleep (which is actually a good thing). However, when the reality of ''the challenge of living life' started to take it's toll, the significance of this passage really began to seep in.  Whenever we are in a situation and don't know what to do, it never hurts to look toward Jesus! As a matter of fact, it is the best thing to …

From Great Weakness to Incredible Power

Church4Chicks founder and teacher Shelley Hendrix shares spiritual wisdom in this new Sunday column.

I feel weak, worn out, and yes, even discouraged today. And, as only my Heavenly Father could do, He brought me back to this post I wrote a couple of years ago. I had completely forgotten I had ever written this. What a sweet Savior, who not only knows our weaknesses, but also delights in standing with us in all of the ups and downs of our daily lives and routines. I don't know what tomorrow holds, but thankfully, the Jesus I read about here in this passage, really is the One who holds my future. And in that reality, I find tremendous hope, and I feel my spirit lifting. Luke 4 (The Message)"Tested by the Devil1-2Now Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wild. For forty wilderness days and nights…

New Church 2011 Holds First Service

The congregation launches with more than 600 people in attendance.

New Church 2011 held its very first service as a congregation Dec. 5 with more than 600 attendees. According to Pastor Craig Bowler, the mission of the church is "being transformed by the Gospel to live and love like Jesus." Bowler is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky and was the director of spiritual formation at North Metro Church. He also serves in the humanities department as an adjunct professor for the University of Phoenix.   The church has not found a permanent home. It is holding services in various locations. The team planning the new church didn't know what kind of attendance to expect for the first service, held at the West Cobb Church between Marietta and Powder Springs.  The ushers quickly …
