Now is the time to start thinking about the details – or at least a few of them. Here’s a timeline to keep your party planning running smoothly. Follow these guidelines, and you’re sure to be organized come the big day. In the time before Christmas you should: Four days before (Dec. 27): Wash and iron table cloths and napkins, polish silver if necessary, clean the house. Three days before (Dec. 28): Decorate your home for the party. Coordinate menu items with serveware. Match serving utensils and platters, label which will be used for each menu item, and set them on the serving table (or in an out-of-the-way place) …
