Top Baby Names of 2012, Did Yours Make the List?

Sophia and Aiden top the list of baby names of 2012.

It's out and it's here on Patch, the most popular baby names of 2012. Babycenter.com recently released its list of the top 100 popular baby names for 2012. Here is a look at the top ten - is your baby's name on the list? Girls Boys And even more interesting is the website's list of unusual names, which includes J'Adore, Kaixin and Oasis for girls and Burger, Google, and Pawk for boys. All we can say is Goodluck with that. (Goodluck was one of the boy's names on the list, too.) Just for fun, tell us what you named your baby and why in the comments below.

What's in a Name?

A list by Disney Baby reveals names expected to skyrocket in the future.

When I was pregnant with my daughter, our first child, we didn't agonize for months over what to name her. In fact, we had her name picked out before we even knew she was a girl - Lucy Jane. When I worked as a reporter in Dalton, I interviewed a girl named Lucy, and it really stuck with me because that was the first time I'd encountered anyone with that name. And, since then, I hadn't really heard of any other Lucys, with the exception of one girl in our playgroup. To me, it was the perfect name - classic, something that will be able to grow with her, and not very common. And, her middle name, Jane, after my grandmother Bobbie Jane, made it flow perfectly. We went with a older traditional name for our daughters first name, Katherine, and a more popular name for her middle, Olivia. I've always loved the name, and being one that had a very odd name, I swore my children would have normal names.   more ›
