One jailer in Oconee County was fired and another resigned earlier this month because they allegedly sent Facebook friend requests to a female inmate under their supervision. Oconee County authorities also claim the two men had improper conversations with the inmate, although no physical contact occurred. A search of the inmate's computer, which she did not have access to, revealed the friend requests sent by her two jailers. Maybe Mark Zuckerberg should create Jailbook? Inmates can pass each other friend requests on sheets of toilet paper and tag their location by writing on the walls of their cells. A jogger in Watkinsville, GA came across an unsettling discovery on July 23; a prosthetic leg belonging to a small child. Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon told The Athens Banner-Herald that he believed the leg was lost from a moving vehicle, as it showed skid marks, a possible result of sliding across the roadway. Additionally, O'Dillon told Oconee Patch that speculation on why the leg was discarded is running rampant. Fortunately, the leg was claimed on Aug. 2 by the mother of a 6-year-old boy, who it is assumed threw the leg from a moving car. Kentuckian James Crittenden is no stranger to law enforcement. A Summerville (Chattooga County) man is taking on the role of distressed prison warden after vandals allegedly cut down some fences enclosing his turtle farm. According to the Associated Press, some 1,600 of David Driver's 2,200 turtles have managed to slowly escape the farm and "bolt" to other watering holes such as creeks and ponds. Sheriff's deputies are searching for the escapees. If you will be driving through the Summerville area, please remember that hitchhiking turtles may be escaped turtle convicts. In Other News...
