Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market Opens in Marietta
Marietta City and Cobb County officials and representatives from Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets celebrated the opening of a 41,403-square foot grocery-only store at 1137 Powder Springs Road on Jan. 16.
From the City of Marietta: Marietta City and Cobb County officials and representatives from Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets celebrated the opening of a 41,403-square foot grocery-only store at 1137 Powder Springs Road on Jan. 16. Approximately 90 employees have been hired to operate the store, one of the first Wal-Mart Neighborhood Markets in Georgia. The store is strategically located within one of Marietta’s opportunity zones, which encourage new businesses to locate in the city or existing businesses to expand. When two or more new jobs to the state of Georgia are created, businesses may be eligible to receive $3,500 in state income tax credits for each new job for five years.
