Rollin' on the River Singles Dance

Park Bench Neighborhood Pub Fundraiser  Northeast Cobb's Atlanta Metro Singles is hosting a very special singles event, and hopes that you will join the fun. If you listen to Q100 and/or The Bert Show in the morning, they have been talking about this local family, The Stark Family. The family was also featured on HLN and CNN.   This selfless couple had adopted and raised six "special-needs" children to take care of as their own for over 20 years. Not having much themselves (broken down van, no electricity in the main bedroom, and the husband lost his job over a year and a half ago), the couple still poured their hearts out to their children always putting them first. A month or so ago, the husband and wife decided to take a weekend …

'Teach Me to Be a Man!'

What's the singles scene like in Northeast and East Cobb? Find out in this feisty column appearing Tuesday on Patch.

My girlfriend and I attended a singles event over the weekend. We went to a local well-known restaurant that featured a live band. It has an outdoor patio where most of our group sat, name tags in place, and mingled. We were invited to sit at a table with a couple of friends and a couple we did not know. Our conversation with two men at the table was fun. Interesting. We talked about dating. The couple seated across the table cuddled, kissed and talked about a recent vacation that they took to Florida. Then it dawned on me ... the couple was on a date. Whoa! What is wrong with this picture? Tell me if I am missing something, but if I were dating a man, the last place I would want him to take me is a singles event! Is this his way of saying…
