Safe America Names Task Force Chair

Ted Daywalt has been appointed to serve in a new veterans-oriented post by the Sandy Plains Road-based organization.

From a press release: The Safe America Foundation introduced Ted Daywalt as the Chair of its newly created Wounded Warriors and Veteran’s Task Force. Conceptualized in 2012 and launched in early 2013, the new Safe America task force brings together private, public and non-profit sector leaders to address issues of wounded veteran mental health and employment, among other issues. One of his first efforts as Chair will be the 2013 launch of a Wounded Warriors Veterans Assistance Center in Atlanta, GA. Housed at the Atlanta Medical Center, thanks to office space donated to the project by Tenant Healthcare, the center anticipates providing wounded veterans and their families a “one-stop shop” for navigating and securing resources available for…

Spring break for the Cobb County School District is next week. You can kill two birds—getting your teenager proper driver's education and occupying your teenager during spring break—with one stone—a weeklong driver's ed course. Safe America at 2480 Sandy Plains Rd. is offering 30 hours of classroom training during spring break. The class meets from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. You then schedule three two-hour behind-the-wheel sessions with a state-certified instructor in the next six months. Safe America charges $459, but if you're a PTA member, you get a $50 discount by using the coupon code "gapta" when you register online this week.
