Buyer Beware: SEC Championship Tickets Could Be Bogus

The SEC, Alabama and the University of Georgia are warning fans to beware of counterfeit tickets to Saturday's sold-out SEC title game.

If somebody's trying to sell you a ticket to Saturday's SEC Championship game between Georgia and Alabama, take a very close look. It had better have two strips of SEC holographic foil at the top, and more foil on the championship logo in the middle. You ought to be able to see the SEC logo and name in the foil as you move the ticket around in your hand. If you can't, walk away. WRBL News reports that the SEC and the title-seeking teams are worried fans eager to get into the sold-out game might be scammed by counterfeiters. “It’s important to pay close attention to the details of the ticket, especially the holographic foil,” David Knight, director of championship ticket operations, said in a news release posted on the station's site. Georgia Bulldogs Football vs. Kentucky: Back in the Saddle

The Bulldogs are hoping for a strong performance, and some help from Florida, to get back into the SEC East title hunt.

We knew Bulldogs fans would be rooting for Florida this week, so the Gators can beat South Carolina and restore Georgia's opportunity to win the SEC East division. David Ching of ESPN's DawgNation blog notes that the Wildcats have played Georgia closer than their record might indicate, including a 19-10 game in 2011 in which the Bulldogs had to come from …

Georgia vs. Missouri Football Preview: Dawgs Enter Unfamiliar Territory

Here's what they're saying about the Bulldogs and Tigers in Missouri's SEC debut.

How do we know Georgia Bulldogs football is special? Because Delta Air Lines is changing its flight schedule just to make sure UGA fans get to Columbia, Missouri, in time for the Tigers' inaugural SEC game. It will be a learning process. Seth Emerson of the Macon Telegraph reports the two teams are virtual strangers. Neither squad even has a scholarship player from the other's state. Georgia head coach Mark Richt did interview for the Missouri job more than a decade ago, but the teams' only previous matchup was in 1960. At least one Missouri player isn't that impressed with what he's seen of Georgia so far. Defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson told a reporter he watched some of the Georgia-Buffalo game last week, then turned it off. "It's …

Alabama football coach Nick Saban wants Kell defensive back Brendan Langley to don crimson come fall 2013, al.com reports, and when it comes to recruiting, especially defensive backs, Saban usually gets what he wants. Langley, fresh off his eighth-place finish in the state AAAA 100-meter dash, has earned a ranking among the top 20 in the nation at his position in the Class of 2013. The Longhorn multisport star is a high priority for Saban, al.com says, and he has Alabama in his top three schools, along with Georgia and Tennessee. College coaches won't get to see Langley and the rest of the Longhorns in action that counts until Aug. 25 in the Corky Kell Classic against Chattahoochee.
