An Atlanta man considered armed and dangerous is wanted by the FBI for a series of armed robberies, including two in Cobb. Michael Jerome Winfield, 46, is accused of multiple armed robberies at metro Atlanta locations and most recently a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo in Tucker, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. In Cobb, Winfield is accused of robbing two gas stations at gunpoint. He reportedly stole several cartons of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash in an armed robbery at the Walgreen’s off South Marietta Parkway around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 8. Smyrna is charging Winfield in connection with a Feb. 9 armed robbery at a BP gas station off Cobb Parkway. Winfield is also wanted by the Alpharetta Police Department for a Feb. 11…

Police arrested a woman believed to have assisted in the robbery of a BB&T bank and are still seeking a man.
Megan Haney, who is believed to have assisted in the Halloween robbery of a BB&T bank, was arrested about 4 p.m. Tuesday after an hours-long hunt by Marietta SWAT officers, the Marietta Daily Journal says. The Marietta Police Department was involved in a search in the area of North Marietta Parkway to Allgood Road, west of I-75 to Highway 41, Marietta police officer David Baldwin said. Officers are still seeking John E. McCrary, who is considered armed and dangerous, MDJ says. McCrary is believed to be the man who, dressed in a shoulder-length black wig, women’s clothing and sunglasses, robbed the BB&T bank at 1901 Sandy Plains Rd. in Marietta.
