Talenti plans to maintain its existing plant in Dallas but relocate its primary production headquarters to the Marietta Industrial Park and begin production later this year.
Talenti Gelato has acquired a former Kroger ice cream production facility in Marietta. The expansion represents the addition of up to 100 jobs in Marietta and the state of Georgia. Three major grocery store chains in Northeast Cobb are recalling certain packages of ground beef.
Kroger, Publix and Winn-Dixie stores are recalling products that include boxes containing ground beef “chubs,” which are cylindrical plastic-covered rolls containing ground beef. The items include boxes of three-, five- and 10-pound chubs, produced on July 23, with a "Freeze By" date of August 12, 2011, and boxes of 10-pound ground beef chubs produced on July 25, 2011, with a "Freeze By" date of August 14, 2011. The 60,242 pounds of ground beef were produced by National Beef Packing Co., LLC located in Dodge City. The ground beef products may be contaminated with deadly E. coli 0157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday. A pickpocket stole a shopper's wallets at the Publix supermarkets located on East Piedmont Road and Sandy Plains Road.
Cobb County Police have charged Ricky Waller, 31, of Marietta with Theft by Taking and Credit Card Transaction Fraud. He is currently being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. On Wednesday evening a wallet theft occurred at the Publix located at 1050 East Piedmont Road. The wallet had been taken from a purse placed in the child seat of the shopping cart. The responding officer arrived on scene and broadcast a detailed description of the suspect. Other responding officers recognized the suspect and went to both nearby Target stores to conduct surveillance on the parking lots. Within a few minutes Waller arrived. He entered the Target store and was taken into custody without incident. Waller is also accused of taking a wallet …
