Visa Card Network Outage Sunday
A technical problem stopped some people from using their Visa credit and debit cards for less than an hour, the company said.
If you were shopping in Northeast Cobb Sunday and your Visa card was rejected, you weren't alone. Consumers and merchants across the nation reported Visa cards being rejected. The outage was caused by a recent update Visa has made to its system, reports The Associated Press. Visaspokeswoman Sandra Chu told the AP that the company had trouble processing some transactions as a result. The outage occurred approximately from 2:40 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. Visa had notified its network member banks of the problem. The system is operating normally now, Chu said.
