Crime Prevention and Fun at 'National Night Out'

Participants gathered in Northeast Cobb Wednesday evening in honor of the 28th Annual National Night Out (NNO).

Law enforcement held a going away party for drugs and crime at the Target shopping center located at the intersection of Shallowford and Sandy Plains Road as part of the National Night Out campaign.  The goal: to make a connection with the community. And seems to be working, even with kids. While safety tips and learning tools were provided to the community, the event also had public safety vehicles, like fire trucks and patrol cars, on display, and provided some back to school entertainment for the kids, including a bounce house, a martial arts demonstration, free food, and games.  The Cobb County Police Department provided coloring books, and Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services gave kids the opportunity to explore fire vehicles and …

Police Host National Night Out Event

The public is invited to this event that promotes crime prevention and strengthens police-community partnerships.

Officers from the Cobb County police department will mingle with the public tonightto promote National Night Out at the Target located at 3040 Shallowford Road. The annual event, now in its 28th year, generates support for anti-crime programs and police-community partnerships, and promotes crime prevention. The event will take place at the Target store parking lot from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to ask police officers questions during the event. K-9 Units and police vehicles will be on-site. Children will receive stickers, coloring books, trading cards and more.
