Northeast Cobb Woman Found Safe

Ina Wray was discovered on Wade Green Road after going missing from her home Sunday morning.

Updated: 7:15 p.m. Cobb Police cancelled the Mattie's Call after she was discovered safe and in good health on Wade Green Road around 5:30 this afternoon. She has been returned to her family and there are no signs of foul play, police said. Missing Marietta Man Found Safe

Dudley Charles Lyon, 81, was discovered by Habersham Police Tuesday night.

Updated, Wednesday 9:55 a.m. Cobb Police said Lyon was found safe by the Habersham Police Departmet around 7 p.m. Tuesday and was "in good health and spirits." Police also indicated there were no signs of fou play. Patch finds out the difference between a Mattie's Call and other emergency alerts and how they are used.

Smyrna-Vinings residents were on the alert this weekend after the Smyrna Police Department issued a Mattie’s Call for a missing teen. But what is a Mattie’s Call? How does it differ from a Levi’s Call and how do police know when to issue one? Patch caught up with Public Information Officer Michael Smith to learn more. He explained that there are specific criteria that differentiate Mattie’s Calls from Levi’s Calls “The state—and it’s not just Georgia—have set it so the system isn’t overly used,” he said. “When we use it, we want people to pay attention and as with anything else, if you get too much of it and it’s not pertinent information people start ignoring it. Update: Kennesaw Man Found Safe

Davonn Tyree Browder, 19, was found in an Atlanta park more than two days after leaving home.

Kennesaw resident Davonn Tyree Browder, 19, is safe and back with his family. Atlanta police found the man, who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, in a park in the city around midnight when they responded to a report of a suspicious person, Cobb County police reported. Browder showed no signs of foul play and just wanted to go home, Cobb police said in a news release, and he was in good health and good spirits when he returned to his family early today. A 19-year-old Kennesaw man with paranoid schizophrenia is missing, and Cobb County police are asking for the public’s help to find him. Update: Woman with Alzheimer's Safe

Evelyn Satterfield, 81, who drove away from her Northeast Cobb home around 2 p.m. Monday, ran out of gas in Commerce.

Evelyn Satterfield is safe. The 81-year-old Northeast Cobb resident, who has Alzheimer's, was found by a Commerce police officer around 9 p.m. after her family's silver 1998 Buick LeSabre ran out of gas along Interstate 85. Satterfield is unhurt, and her family is driving the 80 miles to pick her up and bring her home. An 81-year-old Northeast Cobb woman with Alzheimer’s is missing, and the Cobb County Police Department has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Mattie’s Call to help find her. Missing Woman Found Dead in DeKalb

Investigators issued a Mattie’s Call for Annie L. Smith after she went missing from the Ashley Manor Personal Care Home.

The search for a missing 57-year-old Northeast Cobb woman with dementia has come to a tragic end. A body matching Annie L. Smith's description was found in the 1400 block of Hosea Williams Drive Thursday morning, Pat Bailey, director of the DeKalb County Medical Examiner's Office, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A neighbor noticed the body and called police, Bailey said. Atlanta police responded to the vacant home and found the body on the back porch about 12:30 p.m., Cobb County police said in a news release Thursday evening. The body was confirmed to be Smith, police said. Anyone with information about how Smith made it 30 miles from her home and died is asked to call the Cobb police Crimes Against Persons Unit at 770-499-3945.

Woman Missing from Nursing Home

Northeast Cobb resident Annie L. Smith, 57, suffers from dementia and asthma.

Cobb County police are searching for a 57-year-old woman with dementia and asthma who is missing from the Ashley Manor Personal Care Home at 532 Dickson Rd. in Northeast Cobb. The police Crime Against Persons Unit has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Mattie's Call for Annie L. Smith, who is believed to have walked away from Ashley Manor this evening. Smith did not have her medications when she left the nursing home, police said. She is 5-foot-3 and 150 pounds with brown eyes and short, gray hair. She was wearing black pants, a royal-blue shirt and a black zip-up jacket with a hood when she was last seen at Ashley Manor, police said. Anyone with information about Smith is asked to call 911 or 770-499-3911.
