Missing Boys Found Safe in Texas

They were found at a hotel in Austin after a nationwide Amber Alert.

The missing brothers from Suwanee who were the subject of a nationwide Amber Alert were found Saturday in Austin, Texas, and their father is in custody, according to media reports. Myfoxaustin.com reported that Ben Cleary, 9, and Henry Cleary, 7, were safe. Their father, Daniel Cleary of Roswell, was in custody and facing charges, according to Roswell Police. Austin, Texas, police said a citizen recognized the boys from the alert and notified police at 6:11 p.m. Eastern time that they were at a hotel. Officers "observed the suspect and the two boys, and recovered the two boys and took the suspect into custody," Austin police Lt. James Nisula. The More You Know: What's a Mattie's Call?

Patch finds out the difference between a Mattie's Call and other emergency alerts and how they are used.

Smyrna-Vinings residents were on the alert this weekend after the Smyrna Police Department issued a Mattie’s Call for a missing teen. But what is a Mattie’s Call? How does it differ from a Levi’s Call and how do police know when to issue one? Patch caught up with Public Information Officer Michael Smith to learn more. He explained that there are specific criteria that differentiate Mattie’s Calls from Levi’s Calls “The state—and it’s not just Georgia—have set it so the system isn’t overly used,” he said. “When we use it, we want people to pay attention and as with anything else, if you get too much of it and it’s not pertinent information people start ignoring it. Levi's Call Issued

3-year-old Austin Waters of Monroe was last seen around 1:30 p.m. Saturday

UPDATE: According to WDRW-TV Augusta, Austin Waters, 3, has been found. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has canceled the Levi's Call.  ORIGINAL STORY: Local authorities in Walton County have issued a Levi's Call for a toddler who was last seen early Saturday afternoon. Austin Waters, 3, was abducted from Monroe on Saturday. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. He is 2 feet 6 inches tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Waters is thought to be in grave danger.  According to authorities, the abductor is believed to be 44-year-old Bobby Waters, the toddler's non-custodial parent.
