The Trojans take charge in the third quarter of the Northeast Cobb clash on the third and final night of Kell's Longhorn Classic.
The Kell Lonhorns jumped on top early at the last night of their Longhorn Classic, but the second half was all Lassiter, which grabbed an 84-76 win Monday night. Senior guard Niles Clark led four Lassiter scorers in double digits with 24 points. Adam Dowell and Juwan Dickey had 18 each, and Justin Hahn pitched in 13 points. The Longhorns had two players reach double digits: Kendall Crute with 23 and Grant Bryant with 18 points.

A matchup of two of the top three boys basketball teams in AAAAA highlights the high school sports schedule this weekend. Depending on whether you favor the Georgia Prep Country/Georgia Athletic Coaches Association poll or the Score Atlanta standings, Wheeler and Shiloh are either Nos. 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 in AAAAA right now. We'll see which team is more deserving of the high ranking and is a stronger threat to the other team in the top three, Milton, when they play at Wheeler at 6 p.m. Saturday. Holiday basketball also gets underway this weekend with the three-day Longhorn Shootout at Kell, including Kennesaw Mountain, Lassiter, Woodstock, Dunwoody, North Atlanta and Mundy's Mill. Saturday's court action includes four games at Allatoona High in the Coaches vs. Cancer breast cancer awareness event. If you are looking for high school basketball, here is what to watch for at the Northeast Cobb Patch on Friday: Teams: Lassiter vs. Marietta Time: Girls-6 p.m.; Boys-7:30 p.m. Where: Marietta High School Girls Preview: Marietta (6-9, 4-1) hosts Lassiter (1-12, 0-4) in a game that pits Region 5-AAAAA's first place team against its last place team. Lassiter has struggled offensively all season and is averaging just over 25 points per game. The Blue Devils beat Lassiter 51-20 on December 7. Boys Preview: Lassiter (5-7, 3-1) will try to halt a two-game losing streak when it travels to Marietta (4-12, 2-3).
