The Powers Ferry Road market is the new venue for weekly Marietta Food Truck Rally tastings.
Every Monday starting May 6, the Marietta Food Truck Rally will offer Cobb foodies a taste of the thriving urban street food scene and bring casual, affordable, delicious food options to Marietta’s community. Last year the Marietta Food truck Rally was held at the parking lot of Walton Communities’ 12-acre Meeting Park near Marietta Square. The move to Harry’s Farmers Market offers food truck enthusiasts a more central location with expanded parking and seating options, according to Whole Foods Market.

Harry’s Farmers Market and Whole Foods Market are having their annual celebration of Parmigiano Reggiano. Stores will attempt to “crack” the Guinness World Records title for the number of wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano simultaneously cracked in its stores across the United States, U.K. and Canada. Stores will be cracking 500 wheels simultaneously, and shoppers are invited to all participating stores to taste and cheer on their cheese mongers as they crack open an 85-pound wheel using traditional tools and methods. Harry's Farmers Market at 70 Powers Ferry Road, Marietta, will participate in Saturday's event. Whole Foods Market is recalling ricotta salata sold in 21 states and Washington, D.C., including its store at Merchant's Walk in East Cobb and Harry's Farmers Market in Marietta. The cheese came from its supplier, Forever Cheese Inc. of Long Island City, N.Y., because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. That is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
