How Can You Save $2 Per Gallon of Gas?

Kroger is extending its summer fuel promotion that trades grocery purchases for fuel discount points until the end of the year.

Do you buy a lot of groceries? If so, you can cut the cost to filling up the tank of your car or SUV. Kroger is extending its summer fuel promotion until the end of the year. By spending $2,000 in a single month at Kroger, you can save $2 per gallon of gas at Kroger Fuel Centers. The savings start with the first $100 spent at the grocery store, which saves you 10 cents per gallon. The grocer awards customers one point per dollar spent in any Kroger store, if you have a "Kroger Plus Shopper's Card." Select gift cards in the stores' back to school promotion earn quadruple fuel points through Sept. 8. All gift card purchases earn double fuel points after Sept. 8. Georgia Gas Prices Drop, OPEC to Discuss Oil Production

Are the current prices reasonable enough in your opinion? What can we expect from today's OPEC meeting?

If you have been following the daily Cheapest Gas feature on Northeast Cobb Patch, you probably have noticed that local gasoline prices have dropped during the past week. The cheapest gas you could find in Northeast Cobb was $3.72 per gallon a week ago, compared to what you could find today, $3.54 per gallon, which is 18 cents lower. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported that Georgia’s gasoline prices went down 7 cents in the past week, according to AAA Auto Club South. The travel organization's data shows that Georgia’s average price per gallon is $3.62, compared with $3.69 a week ago, $3.88 a month ago and $2.58 a year ago. I'm sure you've noticed local gas prices have spiked once again and are expected to stay over $3 for at least the next two years, according to Energy Information Administration economist Neil Gamson. Putting gasoline in your car is not a choice. It has to be done. The rise in prices can easily change your family budget. Some things may have to be cut if you drive a significant amount.
