The Kell High School football team learned on Monday that it has been chosen to participate in the Corky Kell Classic And for the second year in a row, the Longhorns will be facing Chattahoochee to kick off the event on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013. That game starts at 9 a.m. sharp. Kell is named after the late Wheeler coach and Classic namesake Corky Kell. The Longhorns defeated Chattahoochee to start 2012, enroute to a 10-2 season that ended in the second round of the state Class AAAAA playoffs. Kell lost in that game to eventual state champion Gainesville. Kell will be losing some of its key figures, including defensive back Brendan Langley, who will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall.
