Marietta Driver Involved in Fatal Crash
A man died after a Friday night crash where his Chevrolet was struck twice at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road near Cumberland Mall.
A fatal crash occurred Friday evening at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road near Cumberland Mall in Vinings, according to the Cobb Police Department. Investigators said that the driver of a gray 2009 Chevrolet Impala was attempting to turn right onto Cobb Parkway from Akers Mill Road on a red light when he was struck by a maroon 1999 Mitsubishi Montero. After it was hit, the Chevrolet continued on in an easterly direction where it was struck a second time by a gray 2012 Toyota Camry, while the Mitsubishi overturned on its roof and came to an uncontrolled rest in the southbound lanes of Cobb Parkway, said Cobb police spokesman Dana Pierce.
