Restaurant Review: Douceur De France

Sometimes the most tedious part of dining out is figuring where to go and where not to go. Patch makes it easy. We scout out restaurants for you. This week: Douceur De France.

After residing for 12 years near Glover and Atlanta streets in Marietta, Douceur De Fran French Bakery and Cafe re-located this summer to 277 South Marietta Parkway, at the intersection of Powder Springs Street and the South Marietta loop. It was a good move. There is so much more room for seating at the new restaurant--and more room to put out the luscious French pastries the cafe is known for. We went in for lunch on a crowded day just before Christmas, and everyone and everything was in a festive mood. Service: The service was good, in spite of the busyness of the season. Coffeehouse Offers Homemade Meals, Conference Room

Metanoya Coffeehouse-Cafe offers coffee, catering, homemade meals, a conference room, and a loft fireplace lounge.

I wandered into the Metanoya Coffeehouse Cafe at the intersection of Sandy Plains Road and East Piedmont.  I wanted coffee.  I discovered much more. Metanoya's interior design is extraordinary.  You walk into a coffeeshop with trendy, comfortable seating downstairs.  A stacked stone fireplace is the centerpiece of the upstairs loft lounge, visible from the ground floor, where professionals and students quietly converse over laptops.   There is a conference room, complete with long table and upholstered chairs, available upstairs as well.
