Vendors at the festival will feature handcrafted animal-related art, including jewelry, bird feeders and houses, housewares, animal clothing, collars and leashes, pet portraits and pottery. This past week, The Art Place Mountain View hosted a "Multimedia Camp" for middle school children.
"Multimedia Camp" for middle school children was held weekdays this past week at The Art Place - Mountain View. Up to 24 students participated in each of the two daily sessions. Instructor Betsy Khuri has a passion for both children and art, evident in her interaction with kids. "Multimedia Camp was designed to encourage the creative side of students," said Khuri. Multimedia Camp focused on the art of papier-mache and shadow boxes. Students made papier-mache animals, dancing and other figurines, and shadow boxes. If there is one thing my kids would love to do every day it’s painting. My Grammy is an artist. We all seem to have he genes and frequent desire to express ourselves on canvas. With Father’s Day coming up, kids and dads may enjoy a handmade painting. Michael’s Arts & Crafts is one of my kids favorite stores and place for painting supplies. For paintings we use: Since we paint fairly regularly, I find that the total cost for a painting comes in at approximately $1 - $3 each. We put newspapers on the floor and use paper plates for the pallets. Our canvas is sitting on the little easels. We are ready to see what develops before our eyes.
