Garden Party to Tour Northeast Cobb

Cobb's master gardeners will guide you Through the Garden Gate and throw in a plant sale and festival Saturday.

Enjoy a pre-Mother's Day staycation by taking the Through the Garden Gate garden tour of Northeast Cobb and East Cobb with the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County on Saturday.

The and covers the following private gardens and projects run by the Cobb Extension Office's master gardeners:

  • Linda Baird's garden, which has country flair and uses boulders and decking for visual impact and drainage.
  • Carol Cavalli's garden, where she has created a parklike backyard to replace what the 2009 flood swept away.
  • Fred Duda Memorial Garden, where transplanted California flowers coexist with newer plantings 15 months after Duda's death.
  • Van Swearingin's garden, a peaceful oasis in what was a steep corner lot filled with challenges.
  • Marcie Radakovich's garden, which is a pollinator and bird paradise providing food and habitat amid beauty.
  • CrossRoads Community Garden at, which is also the site of a free plant sale, vendors and children's activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • gardens, which range from raised beds for science classes to a memorial garden.

Master gardeners will be on site at the gardens and the plant sale to answer any questions.
