Yellow Jackets Bounced from Playoffs

Sprayberry can't keep pace with top-ranked Tucker.

The held their own early Friday night, sticking with the top-ranked at seven points each until the second quarter. Ultimately, Tucker pulled away and beat Sprayberry in the first round of the AAAA state playoffs, 44-14.

Tucker scored 36 unanswered points beginning early in the second quarter, according to the Marietta Daily Journal, and never took its foot off the gas.

Sprayberry scored in the fourth quarter, even though Tucker held the Yellow Jackets to just 23 yards of total offense in the second half, but could never get any momentum going to make a run.
