Kell 52, North Paulding 20 – scored on its opening kickoff return, then recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and scored on its first play from scrimmage, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Before a minute had burned from the clock the Longhorns were up by two touchdowns.
Sprayberry 43, Osborne 0 – quarterback Jacob Chesser didn’t disappoint on homecoming, throwing for two touchdowns and running for two more, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. With the win, the Yellow Jackets have a firm hold on the fourth-place spot in the Region 5N-AAAA standings. Osborne moved to 1-4 in region play after Sprayberry shut down its powerful running game.
Marietta 35, Lassiter 28 – fell behind early, according to Marietta Daily Journal reports, but pulled to within a share of the lead after quarterback Eddie Printz led back-to-back scoring drives in the short span of two minutes. With seven seconds remaining in the game and the score tied, Marietta quarterback Anthony Jennings leapt into the end zone from the 3-yard line to win the game. Marietta solidified a spot in the state playoffs with the win and is still tied for first place in Region 5-AAAAA play. Lassiter fell to 2-2 in the region and is in fourth place.
