We're Down to Lacrosse, Baseball

One Lassiter team and two Pope teams remain alive in the state playoffs.

boys will play at home Tuesday night for a spot in the Georgia High School Association’s AAAAA lacrosse championship.

The Trojans, coming off a on Friday, will play , the No. 1 seed from Area 3. Lassiter is Area 2’s top seed.

The game will start at 7.

With a win, the Trojans will play for the title Saturday, either at or home against .

In the A-AAAA tournament, plays at Decatur at 7:30 p.m. in Wednesday’s semifinals after crushing Area 1’s No. 1 seed, , 14-4 on the road Saturday. is hosting in the other semifinal.

Also Tuesday, Pope’s baseball team travels to in the AAAA quarterfinals. The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. If necessary, the teams will play one more game Wednesday to decide the best-of-three series.

If Pope wins, it will play at or at Harris County in the semifinals next Monday. (East Cobb Patch will have more on the Greyhounds on Tuesday morning.)

Otherwise, the high school season is over for GHSA teams in Northeast Cobb. The last soccer team left, the Lassiter Lady Trojans, lost 4-0 at home to on Saturday night, as Score Atlanta reported.

Lassiter’s boys lost Friday night at , giving up four second-half goals in a 4-2 defeat.
