Sale to Benefit Injured Lacrosse Player

Bret Hundredmark, a member of the Lassiter Junior Trojan select lacrosse team, clings to life following a head injury during practice.

On Saturday, March 24 Simpson Middle School sixth grader Bret Hundredmark, a member of the Lassiter Junior Trojan select lacrosse team, was practicing lacrosse skills with a teammate. He was hit on the head by a lacrosse ball. He fell unconscious. He was transported to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Atlanta. Shortly thereafter, he was airlifted to Egleston Children’s Hospital

The first 24 hours in ICU, Hundredmark clung to life. He was placed on a respirator, had a stint put in his brain to drain fluids, underwent two brain surgeries and coded...it took an emergency response to revive him. Days passed. A coma was induced to provide Hundredmark the stabilization necessary to begin recovery.

As of Wednesday, Hundredmark remains under sedation. He's battling spiking fevers. There is blood still draining from his brain. He's on antibiotics to fight a staph infection. A pneumonic lung is improving.
