Lassiter, Pope Hit Road in Soccer Playoffs Today

The Lady Trojans, Lady Greyhounds and both Kell teams will open at home Wednesday.

Pope, the 5-AAAA third seed, opens the AAAA boys tournament at 5 p.m. today at , and the top-seeded Lady Greyhounds start at home Wednesday at 5:55 p.m. against . Like the Lady Trojans, the Pope girls won’t have to leave home before the state finals.

Kell’s boys have the same home-through-the-semifinals path through the playoffs as Region 5-AAAA’s champion.

They’ll open Wednesday night at 8 against Chamblee as part of a doubleheader with the Lady Longhorns, the second seed from 5-AAAA, who play Lakeside-DeKalb at 6.

The second round of the playoffs will be May 8 for the boys and May 9 for the girls.
