Kell Football Safety Mauger Commits to UGA

The Longhorns' safety decided in secret last week to play for UGA.

In a move that was meant to surprise his mother, football safety Quincy Mauger announced his verbal commitment to the University of Georgia Bulldogs before the start of the school's prospect camp on Friday.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mauger had picked Georgia over the University of Central Florida last week, but kept his decision close to the vest until the announcement just before the annual "Dawg Night" camp.

β€œI picked Georgia because it has everything I need to be successful with academics and on the football. It’s a great opportunity, and I took it,” said Mauger in the AJC.

It remains to be seen whether or not Mauger's decision will influence , who is also attending the camp despite . Langley and Mauger have their hearts set on playing in the same collegiate backfield.
