Friday Football Preview: 3 Home Games on Deck

Cherokee (1-5, 0-2) at Lassiter (4-1, 0-1) – did not start Region 5-AAAAA play last week the way it would have liked – a 24-point loss to rival Walton. Tonight the Trojans host Cherokee, a team that’s lost five straight after winning its season opener. This region matchup is important for both teams as they are the only remaining winless teams early in region play. Lassiter is averaging 30 points per game while Cherokee just scores 10 per game. For the Warriors to keep pace with Lassiter, the offensive game plan must open up.

Hiram (3-3, 1-2) at Sprayberry (2-3, 1-1) – The Yellow Jackets saw their two-game winning streak stopped last week against East Paulding. Now must regroup to face another Region 5N-AAAA opponent in Hiram. The Hornets have lost two in a row and are not scoring much at all lately. Hiram has just 17 points over its last two games.

Osborne (1-4, 0-2) at Kell (4-2, 2-1) – has lost its last two games and faces a tough task tonight as it travels to region 5N-AAAA powerhouse Kell. The Longhorns are on a two-game winning streak and sit in second place in the region. Both team average just 16 points per game, but is only giving up 13 while Osborne gives up 22 per game.
