About L.E.A.D.

L.E.A.D. (Launch. Expose. Advise. Direct.) is the country’s first instructional play program for inner-city youth. Launched in 2007 by C.J. Stewart and his wife Kelli, the nonprofit organization is aimed at positively impacting the number of inner-city middle and high school aged youth playing competitive baseball and preparing them to compete for college baseball scholarships. L.E.A.D. uses baseball to transform communities via the four pillars of the program: excellence in academics, athletics, service/civic engagement and exposure. Since its inception in 2007, 100 percent of L.E.A.D. Ambassadors have gone to college and 89 percent have received baseball scholarship offers.
