The UCLA Bruins have withdrawn their scholarship offer to quarterback Eddie Printz, a move that left both his family and his coach blindsided.
Printz's father Ed had to actively seek out UCLA coaches instead of being told by them, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reported.
'I feel like a horse kicked me in the stomach," the elder Printz told the AJC. "And I feel like I let my son down because I let him commit early."
after dropping his commitment to Southern Methodist University last December.
Lassiter's head football coach was protective of his offensive leader and questioned the integrity of UCLA's recruitment of Printz.
“I really shocked and disappointed with how this went down with UCLA,” Irwin said to the AJC. “They haven’t been genuine and forthright through this whole thing."
This is the second recruit from the Peach State that has been spurned by the Bruins. Months ago, Eagles Landing Christian Academy running back and Bruins commit Keyante Green jumped ship to Purdue because of a lack of contact from UCLA.
